Saturday, November 26th, 2022 from 9:00am – 1:00pm The Avery Burton Foundation will be hosting our 2nd annual Hike n’ Heal community event with sponsorship from Arana Software, the RB Group, and Don’t Cheat Your Greatness. We are working to raise awareness with teens, adults and families coping with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and trauma. RSVP at Info@AveryBurtonFoundation.org or call/text 702.604.4283
This event is an outdoor wellness and education program activity for youth in collaboration with non-profit organizations that work with teens and adults in the Southern Nevada community. The event will begin with photos, a brief discussion about mental health first aid tips at 9:00am, followed by a 4-mile hike (level= easy for all ages) beginning at 9:30am and a light lunch box afterward.
Easy levels of hikers are welcome! This walk is on a dirt trail that is mostly flat. It is not advised for wheelchairs due to the slight incline at the beginning of the trail. Please join us at the Trailhead in the Hoover Dam Lodge and Casino Parking lot at 9:00 a.m. for photos and a brief program about the importance of raising awareness for mental health. Then at 9:30 a.m. our group will walk along the Historic Boulder City Railroad Tunnels Trail in Boulder City, NV. Lunch and water will be provided by The Chef Jeff Project.
You must RSVP (call/text 702.604.4283 ) to attend so we know how many lunches to bring.
We are still looking for sponsors and partners for this event. The Avery Burton Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization. Please contact 702.604.4283 for more information.
