“Discover the beauty of African artistry and support a meaningful cause at the Avery Burton Foundation’s Silent Auction. We’re raising funds for mental health awareness programs at the Avery Burton Foundation (ABF).

Plus, you can also join us in-person May 16th from 6pm to 9pm at Desert Valley Gallery where Prince Duncan-Williams & Joseph Muchina Mwangi will be exhibiting their artwork. You will be able to meet Joseph during the exhibit opening. Desert Valley Gallery will showcase artworks by Prince and Joseph through the end of May and has graciously designated 15% of sales from the artist’s works sold May 16-18 to be donated to ABF.

From captivating paintings and delicious treats, to tickets, books, and more… every bid helps make a difference in supporting ABF programs such as scholarships for high school seniors, storytelling initiatives, the ABF Mental Health Champions program, educational events, book signing events, and workshops.

Join us for our 3rd Annual Hike & Heal Event in support of raising awareness with teens, adults, and families coping with mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, and trauma. at the Historic Railroad Tunnels Trail in Boulder City, NV.

The starting point is the easy trail at the Hoover Dam Lodge and Casino Trailhead, Boulder City, NV 89005

With Lake Mead as a backdrop, you will have amazing views during this easy 5 mile walk.

You will have time to enjoy the walk, conversation, and meeting new friends!

ABF Hosts Second Annual Event

The Avery Burton Foundation hosted our 2nd annual Hike n’ Heal community event.

We are working to raise awareness with teens, adults and families coping with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and trauma.

A group of about 30 walkers and hikers of all ages walked our Hike and Heal Event on Saturday, November 26th in support of  Mental Health Awareness at the Historic Railroad Tunnels Trail in Boulder City, NV.

A special shout out to our food sponsors, who donated lunch and water; The Chef Jeff Project, RB Group, ARANA Software and Don’t Cheat Your Greatness.

It turned out to be an awesome day to walk with Lake Mead as a backdrop on this historic trail of 5 miles.

Thanks to all who participated in behalf of raising awareness of Mental Health Issues in our community

EVENT: May 1st, 2022 - Run For Rice & Walk for Wellness

ASIAN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL (ACDCNV.org).

The Run for Rice & Walk for Wellness is ACDC’s first annual charity walk to raise funds for the opening of the HAPI Medical Center and continued food distribution efforts was a huge success.

$5,596 was raised VIA 44 FUNDRAISERS & 114 DONORS – the goal was to raise $5,000.

The Avery Burton Foundation had a team participate, as well as a booth and we raised $80.
There were food trucks, vendors, dancing, a taiko drum performance, and support from local government officials.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by our table and donated to support our team!

Event Details

Thanks to everyone that attended our Hike and Heal Event on Saturday, July 31 in support of Minority Mental Health Awareness Month at the Historic Railroad Tunnels Trail in Boulder City, NV.

A special shout out to our partners at Nevada Black Police Association. We were also joined by representatives from the offices of Nevada Congressman Steven Horsford’s and US Representative Susie Lee.

With Lake Mead as a backdrop, it was a cooler than usual morning for our 5 mile walk.

People swapped stories and enjoyed a Barbecue Breakfast afterwards with pulled chicken thanks to the generous sponsorship from Arana Software and Don’t Cheat Your Greatness!
